After reading that I still have no idea what possible advantage changing from a foundation to a corperation could be.

Its pretty similar to google. I supose a corporation will allways get a 'bigger' vote how things should look today. Google is a huge supporter of Open Source Code and Linux (look at the summer of Code). I find it great that Mozilla is changing into a corporation, it will promote linux developement and draw more atention to the open source and Linux/Unix community.

You can only accomplish so much as a not for profit foundation. Mozilla Corp. is now a taxable entity and are legally have more freedom of action than the former Mozilla Foundation. It'll make sense if you took a class in Ecomomics, or a business class.

It's not CHANGING to a corporation. It's creating a corporation that is owned by the Foundation. Legally, there is a huge difference. So, we'll still have all the benefits of the non-profit organization, with all the benefits of the corporation.

I feel sure this has something with the foundation's money running out from AOL on 15 July last. The timing can't be a coincidence, though the significance is not clear.

As long as the source for Mozilla browsers is open to the public, who cares. RedHat is a corporation and it allows people to tinker with Fedora's and other OSs code.

Interesting point. AOL needs Mozilla less than it thought it would.
