Well google.com would be A GOOD place to start since there are MILLIONS of them all over the place.

i did google it, but most of the images were just random things that werent even penguins at all. the one linux penguin that i found while googling wasnt even transparent...
anyway, thanks for the help

I don't believe that you googled it.
I just googled and found this at the first entry:

That's an svg of Tux, you can scale it infinitly and it has transparency.

Yeah, you can make that SVG into a PNG or w/e you want by using the image viewer's save feature(at least in Gnome). You can use Inkscape for scaling the SVG.

your best show is to get a picture of the penguin you want and zoom in really close to the picture and cut it out yourself. Some call it rendering others just call it cutting out the pic, i would do it but i cant use gimp very well right now =[
