Me and a friend of mine have a full-features HCL site set up, we need people to post reviews. I has features such as modification of reviews, 1-10 ratings, and most useful is average manufacturer ratings (average compatibility ratings of a vendor's product. For example, dell is currently at 8.6, whereas HP/Compaq is at 7.0) This way you can see which hardware vendors are supporting linux, as well as read reviews on their specific hardware.

So let me get this straight, if I have a specific model of a laptop, I can write a review about it and detail stuff about what needs fixing (on a fresh install) and how to do it?

EDIT: Figured it out, I'm writing a review as we speak.

The vendor list is limited and there is no option to select other or unlisted manufacturer?

If you would like to add a manufacturer, just send me a pm or reply to this forum and I'll add it.

Just added about 100 manufacturers, hope this is helpful. If something you need is still not on the list just let me know.

I'll add link support when I get some time, good feature though i don't know why i ignored it when i made the site.

I looked at your site at ( http://hwdb.ubuntu.com/ ) and I couldnt figure out how to use it. All the links show a NULL hardware set...

Any sample searches I can try?
