So I have to do this history project tomorrow, on 'Who is your hero'
At first I didn't know who to choose, so I was looking for whoever I could just BS about infront of the class. Then I came to Mark. I started reading a little about him, and I found he is a really cool guy. He was the first African native to self fund himself into space. And he obvously funds Ubuntu. Which is an amazing thing. He belives in freedom, and open source. He would be cool to meet. So Mark, if you read this you're my hero!!

of course all ubuntu users look up to him,
i'm just worried that you'd have to read it in front of your class,
and bully at the last row, would shout , what a dork!! ;)
aside from that worst scenario , i think you chose well :)

He'll only get bullied if he turns his speech into a rant about Linux that nobody besides himself understands. As long as he acts like .0001% of you by avoiding that, he'll be fine. :P

Hmm, I will have to say SOMETHING about that. So it will be short and sweet.

Oh, how I remember how much I hated assignments like that, especially if you had to read them to the class.

i think that's a great assignment. of course you'll have a nerd or two turning up their nose, but for the rest of the class it'll be informative. much better than "my hero is payton manning" or some other rubbish.
good luck.

sounds like a great idea.
these people who listen to you will say "who is Mark Shuttleworth and what is this Ubuntu thing"
Fill them in. They will talk about it to thier friends/family....word will spread...
