One of the best art sites IMHO is www.deviantart.com, I get nearly all my art for my desktop boxes there. Great backgrounds, skins, avatars, etc. They have a great community, as well, if you aren't opposed to dropping a couple bucks for a subscription (most downloads are free, though).

Yeah, I used to be a Deviant Art member a couple years ago, but my subscription ran out. However, at a recent con I won a year long subscription in a contest, which has gotten me a little back into the community. On a side note, Deviant Art is hiring Linux sys admins and PHP developers (I was offered a job at the con, but, unfortunately, moving is not an option for me). They are located in LA, so anyone in that area and looking for a job, give it a shot!
