Saw this on /. a few minutes ago.

Pretty neat, a supercomputer for under $2500 - and it's running Ubuntu!

ouch at the cost. Seriously, did they buy these parts at the most expensive place they could or is this old news (i.e. this was top of the line stuff when they did the proj)

That's my alma matter. I know that student, too. I remember him running a media center from the command line while drunk. He's awesome.

Prices were from 1 Jan 07. Looks like good prices for back then.
