Senior Support Engineer

rPath, Inc. is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join our team.
At rPath, customer support is part of our corporate DNA - everyone in Engineering directly assists customers as part of their day-to-day work. In large part this is because our customers are all software vendors themselves and wouldn't tolerate anything less! However, given our explosive growth, we need someone that is 100% dedicated to making our customers successful.
If selected, you will:
Respond to customer issues. You'll primarily interact with customers via rPath's online issue database and/or IRC, but an occasional phone call may also be required from time to time.
Work on customer-facing code involving all of our products, from low-level database code to high-level user interface frameworks.
Diagnose problems or specific customer requirements, and write code to address them.
Leverage your experiences with one customer to help other customers by identifying common/repeated complaints and creating a plan (or writing code) to address them.rPath is fortunate to have some of the most technically-savvy customers on the planet, so this is much more than your typical "support drone" position - here, your success will be directly related to your ability to dig into problems and find the information (or write the code) that makes our customers successful.
This position is located in Raleigh, NC - if you're not local, you must be willing to relocate. This position requires less than 10-20% travel. Still interested? You'll need to be able to say "yes" to the following:
