Issue with transparency when running games in wine

So yeah I have compiz on my ubuntu feisty machine. I can run games in wine fine, but for instance with The Frozen Throne / Warcraft 3 , I can see my background as though the game window was transparent. For the life of me I can't seem to fix it. In wine I chose for my manager to not have control of the applications so I could get it full screen (otherwise my ubuntu logo/applications/places/system bar would appear at the top of the games (can't have that)

looking for suggestions.

It's advised to disable Compiz when playing games, especially under WINE.

There is a tray icon for this if I'm not mistaken.
