If any of you are even decent with photoshop/gimp/etc., and have a few minutes to spare I'm looking for a logo of a man breaking chains, like being freed from enslavement. Could be a silhouette or stick man or something.
I realize I'm asking for this for free so I don't expect much nor am I looking for anything super high quality, but anything would be greatly appreciated if possible (I'm completely ignorant to any graphic design at all).

Well now that would be perfect if only I could get the animation to show on the shirt.

Do you mean something like this image....
This is the Emancipatio statue on a roundabout at Haggatt Hall, Barbados.

diesel1,
Yes, something like that, but more cartoony/vector-like. Like a simple, one-color shadowed drawing. Something like the fist part of this:

That fist if Public domain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fist.svg)
I made some chains for it:
You can use the resulting graphic. I made it CC - BY -SA (creative commons licensing) . You can do what you want with it except claim that you made it or prevent others from using/modifying it. If you need it under a different license, let me know. Also, if you use it, let me know....
EDIT: Obviously, CC-BY-SA does not apply if you put it on a T-Shirt.

I use filters (Script-Fu).

original layer and new layer(copy of original) . Add transparent glass on layer 2 and add them together.
There are alot of filters for download and i think you can use photoshop ones.

I used phoshop on this one.
Basically i use only selection tool, copy/paste . magic pen and filters(Script-Fu).

Stone,
That is really nice! I'll be showing these to my friend (it's for him) and if he decides to use it I will definitely tell ya here. Really nice work.

Certainly not as cool, but here are some more variations.
I just used the Gimp's included script-fu. I never knew that was there.
