LOL, I have to say I had a good laugh at Tito's expense. I have my phone (HTC Touch) OC'd but I also do backups all the time. I backup for the programs I have installed, not my contacts list. I don't care if I loose my contacts, all the important numbers are written down or memorized.

Hey Tito, can't you save your contacts to the SIM card?

smartphones can be overclocked and often are if their processors aren't very fast. i know my 8125 can't really work with Skype, but overclocking it will enabe it to be used.

that said, i wouldn't brick my phone to do that.

i don't think it's much more different than DIY computing/programming/tweaking, if you're prepared to pay the consequences of bricking your device.

At the very least, it's an educational experience for Tito.

I think he already has learned the value of doing backups. Next, he may learn to de-brick his phone.
