there should be a stickey explaining how to join/giving introductary info to prospective joiners.

That might be a good idea, I'm thinking something with links to our wiki, mailing list, and launchpad group. That should help people that find us through the forums know where to go next.

what's the link to our wiki? i haven't joined yet but i want to, and i'd be happy to write a post that a mod could sticky.
