I was wondering if anyone knows of good renaming tools for windows and linux/ubuntu. I've been looking for a little bit and found a good amount of software. I just want to find the best program out there for me.

Side Note: I'm looking for a program (same one maybe) that can remove parts of a file name, too. IE: "Losearms 23 - 02 - Band Time.mp3" I want to remove "losearms 23 - 02 - ". So it looks like this "Band Time.mp3" Anyone know of a program that can do this action?

Thanks,
Sugi

krename, thunar or for mp3/ogg renaming, you could use find with a command line tagger like tagger. tagger can rename mp3/ogg based on tags

Another one to take a look at is Ex Falso. It's in the Repos. You can create tags based on filenames and vice versa. I was able to do over 2000+ files in less than 20 minutes.
