I hadn't heard of OS/2 in years. I remember IBM was pushing OS/2-Warp during the '90s with TV commercials with Dennis Leary. Now those were cool.

i thought os/2 had died, like beos (i hate that system, and wish it would just stop being developed). Though what makes os/2 so different and unique?

It DID die....AFAIK, IBM is the only one still using it. I saw servers running it while I was working for IBM Poughkeepsie. Gave me a case of the giggles. I actually own (legal) copies of OS/2 Warp 3 and 4 CDs, but I can't get them to install on anything; not even a VMWare session.

Incidentally, BeOS development HAS in fact stopped. ;) The only OSes under development are Windows, Linux, and MacOSX. Oh and th BSDs and Solaris. SCO CLAIMS to be continuing UNIX development, but I have a little trouble believing them ;)

I can remember seeing Os2 when it was released and thinking Wow.
Damm that seems a long time ago.

No Beos is still under development see both the haiku project and the zeta project (it doesn't say it anymore but it is beos), even beos max development has restarted.

But backto my previous question, if it was a better dos than dos and a better windows than windows, what made it better?
