at the moderators from this forum : if u guys close a post because it is already doubled and then direct the reader to a post which isn't readable , then u guys have : or something to hide , or you guys are afraid of something?? ....which is it??? ... i am talking here about those several posts from the logo 'thing' on this forum -->

:-P First of all the link you posted does not direct me to a post on this forum.

It wasn't even a mod that posted the 'missing link'.

Maybe these threads are why the dupes are being closed:

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/search.php?searchid=1264130

Edit:
Ah...linking to a search doesn't work properly.

O well, do a search yourself on msn+spaces to see the multiple threads.

what is this then????-->

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=23638&highlight=msn+spaces
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=52823

otherwise...i come to the conclusion that if u direct a link with 'highlighted' words from the search page ...it isn't readable ... for me anyways ; all i see then is this :

"No Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster"

must be a bug then ....in that case i apoligise ....

Yup, me thinks it's a bug...why don't you notify the webmaster?

In the post you linked to NeoChaosX posted the link. He's not a moderator but a contributor. Bored2k merely quoted Neo's post.

there are several other posts(from moderators)who redirect to that link (which is bugged) and then close the specific thread...look it up for urself...that is why i started this thread... ;-) ;-)

Neither. We just have a inner rage against duplicate threads.

We're not responsible for the irresponsability of others to _not_ search before posting a gazilion weeks old. If you don't like your threads getting the lock, use the search bar first.

There, y'all made b2k bubbly. Back to my cage now.

One more thing, before posting a complaint, make sure you post in on the right forum, not community chat. Complaints go to the Forum Discussion. Rock _on

Why would you think we have something to hide? Of what would we be afraid?

I think you have private mod-parties to hide and you are afraid people would find out what you are doing in your secret mod-hideout.

We do have a mod hide out, but we mostly use the place to cuss at each other and drink pints.

We discuss a whole bunch of stuff but we never get around to doing them.

Like we have wanted to ask Alastair to be a moderator now for like four months.....

I won't even get into the wiki...

Anyways, Azz, I wonder what'll take us to get things done one at a time instead of throwing a gazillion+1 ideas that never get done.

Basically, because it's a dead link. They happen over time. It was, probably, a perfectly good link at one time that now isn't. If we fixed every bad link, that's all we'd have time to do.
