So by early 08 the whole county of Oakland(Michigan) is supposed to be wireless.
Free wireless according to the plan . Am I going to have any issues when its time to buy a wireless card . Or are there some more suited for Ubuntu ?

Hi. Take a look at these lists of supported cards from the Free Software Foundation (http://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/net/wireless/cards.html) and the Ubuntu Community Documentation (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessCardsSupported) page.

You might want to make sure which protocol(s) are going to be supported. Just possibly, they might choose UMTS or something like that over WiFi.

I cant even get decent wired broadband in my area. I hate the Australian government.
