I was just wondering how old the average ubuntu user is (by ubuntu user i mean; discovered, installed, and configured for use) and post in the poll how old you are.

Old enough to have used Honeywell GCOSIII and IBM mainframe DOS, punch cards, paper tapes, and 110 baud modems.

I was about 15 when my dad bought a Kaypro 2....

I still remember the keyboard commands for WordStar... :D

I learned a lot form that machine.

Why does the survey stop at 50+ for goodness sakes? I am mid 60's and I am installing like wildfire into this age group and also into the mid 80's age group.

Ubuntu is *ideal* for older users not least because of the easy security it and Linux offers, and also the patient community which surrounds it. Security is greatly appreciated by the friends I have help install to.

The additional age ranges up to above 80 would be an advantage. Ubuntu is good for all ages! A lack of older users would suggest them not knowing about it, and further a lack of friends or family members (FOFM's) who are able to inform and support less able ordinary users or novices.

It will signal not ubuntu users, but which users have an active online presence. Very different. The elderly ubuntu users I know do not have an online presence. In fact the elderly non ubuntu users also do not have an online presence!

Soon to be 35. I started on computers when the Apple II was the king of most classrooms.

There are already several polls regarding this. I'm closing here (and another one I missed, BTW). Please continue on the pre-existing threads.
I'm not merging, because polls are lost on merging. Thanks.
