Question about Swimming Pools

So I thought to myself, if people can talk about God, Politics, and Word Association, I Thought I would try my luck at a topic completely unrelated to computers. :-D

So, are there any pool owners that can tell me what kind of filtration systems they use on their pools? I am a relatively new pool owner, and I hear different pro's and cons about paper filters, sand filters and salt filters. I've even heard that with salt filters you don't have do maintain chemical treatments to your pool. What are your experiences and what advice can you share?
