What flavor of ubuntu is everyone using?
I have kubuntu dual-booting with XP on my desktop. I am ready to go full fledged ubuntu on the desktop, and I am leaning to plain jane ubuntu with compiz fusion and then use CrossOver for World of Warcraft playing.
Is there a resource that shows all of the flavors side-by-side to see the differences? I know that kubuntu is using KDE instead of gnome. I found the Christian Edition Ubuntu yesterday, which is an interesting slant.
Have a nice day,
Michael

I'm not real sure of all the differences between them There is also a multimedia edition called Ubuntu Studio (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio) That is really nice. There are not really many big differences between the flavors other than the window managers. All programs can be installed on each flavor.

Hi Michael,
Welcome to the forums! And a big Hello from Leeds, Alabama! :-)
I'm using Ubuntu on one drive with XP Pro on the other (for the time being) myself. I commented on your blog before visiting here this morning so the part about dropping by here is a little late. :)
BTW, where did you find that kinda captcha? I'd like to give that a try myself instead of having to constantly go back to check on comments for spam. The only thing I didn't like about it though was that after completing the image verification, it just thanks you and there's no way back to the blog. Maybe it's a setting?
Well, I got off topic here but feel free to shoot me an email about it if you don't mind.

Well, I settled on Ubuntu Ultimate 1.4 (http://ubuntusoftware.info/Ubuntu_Ultimate_1.4/). I am very happy with it. I will look at the plugin that I am using for the captcha and send you an email about it.

Ultimate Ubuntu looks pretty interesting. I may give it a try as well. Lots of good apps there.

Michael & Crane,
I am browsing the forums atm using the live DVD of Ultimate Ubuntu. This is awesome! Wish my DVD player/recorder played at a decent speed to compliment the overall impact this OS affords.
All I can say at this time is: SWEET! :)
The download is a beast at DSL speeds but all seems to have worked out well.

I still haven't got the chance to look at it. I was planning on installing herd 4 to test but it hangs at the partition screen. So I need to see if this bug has been reported.

Well, I installed Ult over Dapper but once I saw that there was no way initially to make sure I could still access my ******* drive I had to uninstall it and go back to Dapper.
Still have to have ******* a while longer due to my wife having a lot of files on it for work so I may come up with another machine to install Ultimate Ubuntu on.
It appears to be one sweet OS too.

OK now I understand the other post.
So after installing Ult Ubuntu you couldn't boot to Windows or you just couldn't access that partition from linux?
