Rescubuntu is an Ubuntu remix.
It is a live cd that provides the data recovery expert with an
environment equipped with the best free-libre, open source data
recovery and forensics tools available. Since many of those libraries
and tools are part of the Ubuntu Installer, it makes sense to remix
Ubuntu into a lightweight and powerful environment for data recovery.
Some of the tools which are featured in Rescubuntu are documented here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DataRecovery
The process for building a customized Ubuntu live cd from scratch (not
remastering a cd image) is here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomizationFromScratch
And finally, how to get the iso and/or participate in Rescubuntu:
http://rescubuntu.info
I'm looking forward to any and all comments, help and ideas.
