After trying every pdf reader on the planet for Linux, including Adobe's reader, I had to use Windows to fill in forms of this (http://www.fremontpolice.org/jobs/pdfs/04employ_app.pdf) pdf document. I used the Foxit Reader in Windows.
Foxit makes a Linux version, but that version could not see the editable fields.
Anyone else ever have any PDF frustrations? I think this particular document was crafted in MS Word, which could be the source of the incompatibility with all of the readers.

I tried that form with Adobe Acrobat Reader no problems for filling it out and printing. Can't be saved.

If you have the medibuntu repositories enabled, just go to Synaptic and install the acroread-plugins package. That way you can fill in and print the forms.

Ah! That was it. I did not have the acroread-plugins installed. Thanks for your help.
