...how do I make my system safe?

Given the resent condemnation of Automatix, and how it can break ubuntu, I would like to know how to remove it and then make my systems safe.

LOL

It is not that Ax is bad, it is just that it has a few downsides.

If you want Ax support, visit their forums.

IMO you are best off with a fresh install and learning how to install the software you need with the standard Ubuntu tool set. You can also look at Linux Mint as it makes multi media a little easier.

The choice is yours ...

If you want to use Automatix, I don't think it's a bad thing, and many people use it all the time with no issue. But if you want to use Automatix as a crutch and not learn how to do things the manual way, you're selling yourself short.
