View Full Version : Kevin Carmony no longer with Lin/Freespire?

I was surfing around this morning catching up on Linux news when I stopped by http://kevincarmony.com/ (http://kevincarmony.com/) to see if there was any progress with the latest version of FreeSpire. I then noticed that Linspire and Freespire are now part of his Previous Projects section of his website. Has anyone heard anything about this more concrete than that subtle change I saw on his web site?

In an interview today with Linux-Watch, controversial Linux leader Kevin Carmony confirmed rumors that he had resigned as CEO of desktop Linux vendor Linspire on July 31. Carmony said he plans to work on several of his own business projects, and on Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.

I wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt Mark Shuttleworth putting on the pressure.

Linspire is obviously now going to go through major changes and its about time.

Yes, its true, Kevin is no longer with Linspire/Freespire

Kevin was the reason for many of us to join *spire
Kevin was the reason for many of us to leave *spire
And now Kevin himself has become the reason to move on....

Still, in the Freespire forums, no one has announced and also whoever created those threads were deleted by their "well known" moderator (who is suspected to be next CEO :mad:, just kidding :)) without even sending a PM or putting down a reason.
