Desktop of the week competition?

Anyone think we should have a desktop of the week competition? Everyone takes a screen shot of their desktop each week, and people vote on whose is the best?

how about we form a team of people who choose the best desktops from the http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=845546 , we can have a Ubuntu wiki page and everything...

then the 10... 8... 6... 4... 2... 1... whatever number of desktops get voted on using a poll and a thread named "Ubuntu Monthly Desktop Competition"

I think it would be fun. I can't get enough of looking at the Desktop Screeshots thread.

It would be good motivation to mess about even more.:)

I love this idea. This would encourage the community to make the Linux desktop more beautiful (which is what SABDFL wants to do). Maybe, we'll have to think of the optimal time first. A week could be too short. Desktop of the month might be better. I don't know. Maybe, there should be a desktop of the week, of the month, and of the year.

Why not eh? No one's stopping us after all.
