I have a bunch of 40 minute long AVI files on my Mac. When I go to burn them to DVD so I can watch them on TV I put the disc in and on my DVD player it says "playback feature is not supported" and when I put it in my Playstation 2 it says I don't have the right kind of TV system.

I'm assuming that means the AVI files are formatted for PAL or some other region and since I'm using an NTSC TV set they won't play.

Are there any easy to use freeware programs I can use to convert them to NTSC?

I've been able to burn PAL AVI files to NTSC DVD with Nero in XP (that's a lot of abbreviations). Works pretty well.

VisualHub will do what you're wanting. It's not freeware, but it's not extremely expensive either. I think I only paid $20 for it. It's a great program that can do a lot more than just what you're wanting. Give it a try.
