Hello and welcome to the new Ubuntu-UK forum on ubuntuforums.org

Just to point out, there is already a well established, long running and official LoCo team already in place.

You can see details about them here: http://ubuntu-uk.org/ including the irc channel - #ubuntu-uk on irc.freenode.net and mailing list at https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk

btw "You are not alone" is a super song by the mad Europop duo, Modern Talking - perhaps it should be the Ubuntu-UK theme song (check it out on www.singingfish.com or similar - it is seriously mad!) :guitar:

Never realized there was an Ubuntu UK LoCo, never mind a forum.

*shambles off for a stiff whisky*

Any old excuse :)

Hello! :)

I'm a new convert to Ubuntu from openSuSE and I'm loving it, I found the LoCO teams but it was all very confusing about how to join so finding the forum was nice! I can deal with forums, I understand them, plus it means I only have to look in one place.

Sooo... now what?

I'm a pretty time impoverished user new to computers generally - even windows. Ubuntu does all I want and I don't have to sift thru all the useless junk on the web to find what software I need. The online community is just superb!
I'm sure Mr Gates did the world a service in making the PC more user friendly to the likes of myself. However, I wou;ld not consider installing Windows on any computer of mine nowadays - and the kids have their own machine and Wine here.
Well done guys! Linux developers are the largely unsung heroes of the digital age.
P.S. The quick reply window does not work here (Feisty - Gnome - Konqueror)

Hello chaps,
God Bless the UK and all who sail in her.

Anyone know how to get Podcast.net to work or am I thick ? Tried Mediaplay connectivity and mplayer and cut and pasting into rythmbox but no luck. Little words please

Hello folks welcome :-)

Just to remind you all, the Ubuntu-UK Local Community Team can be found at www.ubuntu-uk.org

The mailing lists tend to be busier than the forums, so feel free to join sign up and join in (details on the site). We also have an IRC channel at #ubuntu-uk on irc.freenode.org

Nice to see you all.
