How is Joost? Does it run well on your machines? I could never get it right on my PCs. It would skip around, and very blotchy.

Joost runs very well on my XP machine. I've tried it on Ubuntu with Wine, and never had much luck. I've heard more and more people having success with it, with newer versions of Wine, but I haven't tried recently.

However, on XP, the video quality was very nice, and the ads were, well, short. I haven't even been on it in a while though (in the middle of a remodel of my home office, so it's unhooked...)

Main computer:

2.4GHz AMD Athlon 64 3700+
1GB RAM
160GB Hard Drive
40GB Hard Drive
150 GB External Hard Drive
nVidia GeForce 6600 128MB RAM
Ubuntu 7.04 64-bit, openSuSE 10.2, PC-BSD, Windows XP

2nd/Wife's computer:

1.2GHz AMD
384MB RAM
13GB Hard Drive
nVidia GeForce 6200 256MB RAM
Ubuntu 7.04 32-bit

On my main, my 160GB internal is dying off so the 40GB is actually my main (with Ubuntu on it). I use the other hard drive for testing out different distros and for Windows, since the only thing I use it for is Flight Sim, well, at least till I get around to buying X-Plane. I saw a listing in craigslist for a bunch of computers for cheap. I'm planning on trying to build a network at home. I really want to learn network administration, and I figure this is a good way. When I get all done, I'll be closer to about 6-8 computers and a laptop for me and my wife, once we start school. If this thread is still current, I'll post an updated list.

The one I use most is my Macbook Pro with OS X on it

2.2ghz Core 2 Duo
2GB Ram
120GB Hard Drive
Nvidia 8600 Mobile

Fast as hell, not as fast as my Mac Pro, but when I just wanna sit in bed at night and do my usual RSS'ing and IM'ing, then its way faster than it needs to be for that. This laptop is soon to be the cornerstone of my portable audio recording set up, but until I get the mikes, its just my workhorse.

My Ubuntu PC doesn't get turned on much, and my Ubuntu laptop only gets used if I'm going in the bath (not gonna knackered up me MBP, but the HP laptop dont matter much)
