*shudders* Please no one see that, was a horrible movie. I'm still upset that I wasted my money on it at theatre.

I'll have to look at Beowulf, seems interesting and doesn't seem to be a childish movie...

Uhhhh, I think the OP was looking for something of a more serious/mature nature. Advent Children while not super mature certainly wasn't for small kids or humorous like shrek/happy feet.

In truth, there aren't many CG movies like AC, at least not many serious ones. Your really stuck with Anime for those kinds of mature series/movies (unless you don't like the art style/nature of anime). AC was kind of an anomaly anyway, it was a "sequel" to a video game (FF7 of course)... arguably one of the few great movies based on a franchise ever made.

Sorry, but I think your mostly out of luck, least today.

"Appleseed."

You won't be disappointed.

There's also
"StarShip Troopers: Roughnecks"
"Robotech: Shadow Chronicles"

Oh, and there's Elephants Dream too!

It's just a short film, but it's interesting because it's the first so-called "Open Source Movie" and the quality of the animations is very good.

It was created using the Free Open source 3D software Blender and all the artwork, models, music, etc are released under the Creative Commons license. :)

Appleseed is a good animation.

Blue sky is a let down but is similar CG.

I've yet to see a great CG animation film that is matched equally with a great story.

I was impressed by the quality of detail in appleseed, especially the first few minutes, the low point would have been the security guards with the guns in the hostage scene, something was just a bit off with their movement, didn't look quite right,

Ghost in the shell 2: Innocence, Also had very detailed graphics.
