*update DIGG this and keep the momentum going (http://digg.com/linux_unix/Catch_the_spirit_of_Community_Ubuntu_in_the_US)!

The Ubuntu Community showed, once again, it is the most dynamic group of individuals in the world. Yesterday was the greatest day the US Teams project has experienced since the group was founded. This is a result of the perfect storm: Jono’s blog post (http://www.jonobacon.org/?p=1007), Digg (http://digg.com/linux_unix/Ubuntu_In_The_United_States), and most importantly, a bunch of hardworking Ubuntu advocates. Nine new teams were formed yesterday, and I want to wish the best of luck to the brave soles who took up the role of leader.

I am amazed mostly at the Spirit of Community that I felt yesterday. It is gives me a great feeling to see all of the teams in the US coming together to help support and build each other up. That is what this project set out to do back in January, and it is wonderful to see the mission of the US Teams project being realized.

We still need 10 teams to get to the intermediate goal of having a LoCo team in every state. Once this is accomplished, we can get to the hard work of US wide approval! Take a look at the Team List on the Ubuntu Wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/USTeams/TeamList), there are some team needs listed on the bottom.
If you live in one of these states, we need you!

Nevada
Idaho
Wyoming
North Dakota
South Dakota
Iowa
West Virginia
Delaware
Vermont
Hawaii Don’t miss all the fun on IRC (freenode.net). A couple of us are “running” from channel to channel of each US team. Here’s an auto join list for ya!

Bump to Top

This project has some serious momentum and we can have the US covered by the end of the week if we keep the pressure up!

Awome stuff. Everyone should get involved with their LoCo. Great place to get help, meet new peeps, hang out, and Plan events. The events are always a fun thing to attend and a great way to pull in more people.

I'm in West Virginia, I might see what the Loco is about, but I'm not going to do anymore editting of wikis on the Ubuntu wiki. It's just painful. :(
