I was recently posting a rant on these forums about how Ubuntu was better than Fedora, and on a whim of another member, I posted that rant on Fedora forums, and in turn got Banned for talking bad about Fedora and the Administration at the forums (nothing bad, just said they were lax).
And it made me ponder... is this the most elitist forum I have ever seen?
Indeed I want you guys to help me with that question.

Again, I love the administration at these forums, because if I say something bad about them, THEY SUCK IT UP AND GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES!!!
And I can rant on Ubuntu without worrying about getting banned, because the administration will just lock the thread, but keep you active in case you want to actually ask for help.

I'm an admin on a couple of forums, and if anyone says bad things about me or any other staff member I make it quite clear that I take time out of my day to admin the forum, and as such I won't accept any crap, and if they don't like it, that's tough, they can find another forum. Admins in general put up with a lot of crap, so voicing your opinions about them isn't something they have to listen to.

I'm just saying, be reasonable. And if I were an admin, I would expect to take crap from other people, its part of the posistion. There will always be people that rant and rant, but if you ban them, you haven't accomplished anything. At least here, just lock it and go on. They will become desperate enough to actually ask for help. And then people like me will be there to help them.

I can't believe they banned you for THAT. It looked like a fairly objective comparison, heck, you even gave Fedora the upper hand on a couple of points.

I'm baffled. I fail to understand how banning a user with constructive criticisms is going to help anyone, and isn't providing an open arena for discussion and helping people the whole point of having a forum in the first place?

Sheesh.

Nope, you should no the rules of the forums before you post. And also don't say you posted 18 questions as everyone can see you only posted 6. Fanboy ok but troll is a big nono.

Well, for what it's worth, our administrators don't tolerate baseless flame-baiting either. So... stop?

I was being fecicious with my numbers.
And Know the rules.
Plus, that wasn't trolling, I gave some good points to fedora.
It was fair comparison from my point of view.

I don't know that the comparison was much-needed for even a short time. Be that as it may, you were clearly trying to elicit responses. Some of the responses are perhaps more than you may have bargained for. Such are the fortunes of war.

I'm surprised they banned you. However, the thread wasn't going anywhere - it was just your opinion.

A lot of perfectly annoying and unbearable trolls have good points underneath of what they say. In this instance, you're one of those trolls. Intentions are what matter, and you intended to be annoying. You deserved banned.

It doesn't have to go anywhere, I posted in the part of the forum that isn't a support forum. It didn't have to go anywhere, it was just my comparison.

Closed per request of the OP. This isn't going anywhere, anyway.

You posted on that forum with one intention and one intention only.

"Ubuntu is better than Fedora."

That's trolling plain and simple in my opinion. Please note I am not calling you a troll, I am just telling you that those actions were trolling.

Different forums have different limits of what is allowed, even if it is decided that you are definitely in the wrong. Here I think you would "just" get away with a "fedora is better than Ubuntu" because of your high post count. But just dropping into their forums with a handful of posts and saying something like that is a huge no no.
