A standardized portable open source online game platform, that would be neat.

We have one, in fact we have a few but SDL is the biggy since it works on windows and mac osx too. it includes both OpenGL, Sound Architectures, Input management and various advanced features; The SDL lib is also available for use in many different language ranging from your normal C, C++, Java environments to even scripting languages such as python (via pygame)

To be blunt: you idea is not new, and people have been working on it for ages. now please go and apologise to the SDL team.
