I'm currently using MSN on Pidgin and I wondered which IM Protocol that works on Pidgin has a good file transfer speed as the MSN speed is so slow.

Any ideas? Thanks, Chris.

Are you transferring to/from people who are using MSN on Windows? I always found transfers on Windows to be painfully slow, if/when they worked at all.

I also hate how MSN Messenger would quarantine any audio files that were sent to me "for my own protection". Because you never know, my friend who sent me an MP3 of a demo of a song she'd written might just have hidden a virus in it!

Just remember pidgeon will not fully work as a replacement for any IM clients you might have used on windows as its file transfer is a little off thanks to services like MSN, Yahoo and AIM being uber greedy.

Yahoo seems to be very quick -- when it works.
