Just wanted to remind everybody involved that there a a Team meeting in #ubuntu-florida, 8/5/07, at 8 pm EST.

See the meeting date/time and agenda(s) here:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FloridaTeam/Meetings

We would like to have all sub-team members there and encourage anybody else who wants to participate to be there.

As much as I would love to attend... it happens to be my 21st birthday.

By 8pm I will be quite intoxicated.

I'll most likely be there. I've scheduled it in my Yahoo calendar, so it will email and text me reminders.

In other threads, some people have expressed interest in the Free Geek Central Florida project, after having visted the Free Geek mothership in Portland at the UbuntuLIVE conference. Would it be possible to discuss Free Geek in the next meeting?

cAllison,

Happy 21st Birthday! We will all forgive you for missing it on your 21st birthday. I know I had nothing but drink on my mind when I turned 21.

bodycoach2,

That is an awesome idea to add to the agenda. i was at that particular presentation at Ubuntu Live and was really inspired by it and the BWorks presentation as well. I had a conversation with Robert/BWorks afterwards because I am working on a similar project to donate machines with Ubuntu loaded. The info for these presentations is here:

I just added it to the agenda here:

We need good projects like this to build up our team!!

I'll do my best to be there. My BDay is the day before and my mom's is the day after - so I will be a bit busy with life stuff.

I do really want to discuss FreeGeek and I would definitely want to be a part of it. I can call in some favors and get some really good donations. As for the facility - I think I can find something in Lakeland or Winter Haven. I know that some locations in Orlando are popping up - but wouldn't it be a good idea to have multiple locations under the same banner? We're more spread out than Portland and don't have such a kick-*** public transportation system.
