I am not a programmer, just a user who likes to read about those things. But a lot of it seems to focus on as much code reuse as possible. Besides all the great improvements and tech it will showcase I'm excited to see several applications working natively and easily on other platforms.

Like when Amarok 2.0 comes out. It will be written using kdelibs which will be ported to OSX and Windows. Using Phonon which provides a single API for Linux, OSX and Windows multimedia and Solid for the same deal with devices (assuming they do release it for Windows). Some deal with other kde applications, it will save developers time and allow for easier porting.

Libraries are not something new. I'm not sure what you see KDE4 doing here that isn't already being done.

That being said I'm horribly excited about KDE4.
It is finally moving the desktop in a radical new direction and modernizing it.
It promisise to put an end to KDE's quirkiness.
It is using SVGs.
The Plasmoids will likely allow for even greater configuration than before.
They have updated and improved their usability guidlines, (and appear to acctally be sticking to them)

Yes, I am of the mind that KDE4 will rock my world.
