I was reading about the One computer per child and the Classmate programs to give computers to children in developing nations. aka the 100 dollar laptop.

The article talks about these cheap laptops could be in demand in developing nations also.

I think this fantasic, as it could expose 1000's to Linux. I believe once people experience the Linux advantage first hand, they will be more open to Linux on desktop PCs.
Linux is perfect for these small, slower CPU laptops. Add in no viruses or spyware, and you can see that Windows can not compete on these slower machines.
If Linux gains market share, then MS could offer a cheap laptop OS to compete.
