I'd like to thank all of the members who have already added themselves to the members list in the wiki. For all of you who have not yet done so, please do so now (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MarylandTeam/Members?action=show#MembersList). I've simplified the addition process to make it even easier to add yourself. If you're wondering why this list is so important, here are a few key reasons:
It is likely the first list that new members see. If this list is incomplete, new members may get the impression that our team is weaker than it actually is and potentially decide not to investigate the team any further.
The Launchpad list does not provide any detail on member roles, something that is important for our team's organization.
When we submit our application for team approval, we want to have all of our information in one spot. This makes a wiki members list critical to our success.
I plan to create a map showing the locations of members (as pins). This is not just eye-candy, but also a visual organizational tool.
It allows us to find member information in one spot rather than having to open Launchpad, find a member by Launchpad nick, find that member's WikiName, click on it, and then finally find the information we're looking. That's too many clicks for me.
