It's not on anymore, but I thought Green Wing was fabulous.

We've still got the likes of QI, Mock The Week and... eerm... that's about it. Actually. TV sucks here at the moment.

TV does suck here at the moment. In three months i have watched 20 minutes of BBC News24, that's it. Our tv used to be great, not anymore. It's all reality tv, garden make-overs or car-boot sale bargain hunting.

Some of the older Dr Who shows are "classics" - I remember watching some more years ago than I care to remember and getting a thrill. It's interesting to see how the technology has change over the years.

Another favourite is Porridge

You're not alone, the same thing with Swedish television. It used to be really good, but now the only good stuff is news and a few public service shows and the occasional good series. Otherwise the cable channels are just full of shows about being to fat, shows about cosmetic surgery, make-over shows (be it houses, faces or whatever) and other complete crap :P

Don't forget reality tv

Well, actually it seems to get better in that respect here. There are a lot less reality shows now than one or two years ago. Most of these are now replaced with other crap like before mentioned "Help, I eat too much"-kind of programs.

To me it doesn't really matter since I watch neither, but I guess the eating-programs at least have some form of educational value to some people contrary to the total stupidity of most reality shows :)

I got rid of the tv in my room 2 years ago because of crap tv programming.
Channel 4 used to be a decent channel showing creative short films, world cinema, cult fiction, manga nights and top notch documentries but now it has been reduced to the crap that is 'big brother'.

The only time i watch tv now is for the sports and even that is limited. Are we the only country in the world that gets skanked with a tv license?

I heartily recommend Operation Good Guys; although I am eagerly awaiting the return of Doctor Who as well... the last season was sci-fi bliss.

Hear hear! I'm quite enjoying the Gay Season, as the history behind gay rights is quite interesting, but I'm quite annoyed at the extreme bias towards male homosexuals it is taking. We female homosexuals seem to have been completely ignored by their little gay season. We do exist Channel 4!

I just stick to US shows. Friends, Scrubs, Family Guy.

If you really want a UK show try Two Pints of Larger and a Packet of Crisps. Or Skins. :D

Are we the only country in the world that gets skanked with a tv license?Big Brother gets worse by the year, and it started out pretty damn ****. Haven't watched it for three or four years now. But you're right, all decent programs are ripped from C4 when Big Brother is about.

And we are quite literally skanked by our TV licenses. BBC suck major ***.
