Hello guys !

I am tamilian who switched completely to Linux about 2 years back (through Ubuntu and then Arch). Though I have not been doing any work in Tamil, I am interested in promoting the use of Ubuntu in TN.
Has there been any plan to make a customized build of Ubuntu which may be suitable for the majority of people who want internet browsing, some basic word processing in tamil and little more? Also, has anybody thought of making pcs with a customized Ubuntu pre-installed?
I would love to help anybody interested in any of these projects.

You might be interested in this http://tabuntu.googlepages.com/. For now several efforts are being directed to translating the software available in ubuntu to tamil. If possible you can help with that -> https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+lang/ta

I am not aware of any charities or any one in TN pre-installing Tamil in PCs. May be someone else may able to answer that question. Thanks for making an effort Raja :)
