I did ALOT of MS labeling that looked pretty authentic to MS's logos, and added them onto various wallpapers for people, have had ALOT of requests.. but anyways, I decided to do one for Ubuntu considering this is the only real Linux build that I've actually gotten function properly. SO yeah.. Gradient Ubuntu logo.

use the official (vector, of course) ubuntu logo and tag line- your font looked very far off...

nice work! :)

Yeah, I didnt have the proper font to use for the Ubuntu logo, if one of you guys can hook me up with the font used in the logo, I'll be happy to fix the logo. Thanks for the kind words.

There is no font used in the logo, it's all handmade. But you can download the whole logo so you don't need to add any text.

At the risk of sounding a bit like a mod... Isn't there a forum specifically for Ubuntu wallpaper?

By the way-- I agree it is a very nice wallpaper. I like the simplicity.

That's a cool wallpaper.

If you still have the origional gradient wallpaper minux the ubuntu logo you should put the marching hammers logo on it from Pink Floyd The Wall.

Photoshop :)

Make the initial wallpaper, then add text.

hahah.. Funny. That's exactly the first thing I thought of too when I saw the wallpaper. It's nice, but the anti-Microsoftism and the use of a Microsoft font in the Ubuntu logo cracked me up badly.

That's the scariest thread necromancy I've ever seen.

You could edit the text in the GIMP.

Maybe im confused, but what about the "ttf-ubuntu-title" package?

the font used for the Ubuntu logo and related branding

sudo apt-get install ttf-ubuntu-title

I'm guessing that wasn't around back in 2005 when this thread was started.
