Im thinking about going to get it in the next 10 minutes, so if no one says otherwise Im going to get it. I would get the 4GB model for $250 AU from dicksmiths.

OR I could get a new phone, but I dont know which one I would get.

edit:Im off to get it

I have the samsung YP-K5 - i think the only difference is that the K5 has the slide out speaker. It is a fantastic MP3 Player....

yeah, I saw that one too. I could get the 2GB k5 for the same price as the 4GB k3 (which isnt a big deal to me). The only thing I wasn't too sure about was the size of the k5, can the speakers come off completely?

Samsung makes amazing products, my sister has one and it is an absolute joy to use. I like it more than my sansa, if only it had rockbox :(

I didn't end up getting it afterall. It was a fair bit bigger then I thought. Thin, but other then that it was big in other dimensions

The speaker does not come off the K5 - I can understand that you passed due to size it is a bigger MP3 player - I choose it due to the fact that I wear hearing aids and sometimes it is easier just to slip open the speaker than to go through the hassle of attaching my digital audio cables up to the hearing aids and the like

Yes, I also have a Samsung YP-K3, but I don't know how to transfer songs into it using Ubuntu. I believe it is an MTP player.

Never rush into any purchase. If I was you I would look for a nice phone/music player combo. Why carry two devices when you can do it with one?

Take your time...

Nope, but maybe you should start your own thread instead of hijacking the OPs.
