What programs have you placed in the quick launch bar on the panel? You know, where by default Firefox, Evolution and Help icons stand...

I think this thread may help people decide what they might want to place there.

For starting out, I have Swiftfox, Frostwire, and the good old Terminal in Quick Launch.

What about you?

I have:
Terminal
Firefox
Thunderbird
Amarok
Warzone 2100
TVtime
VLC
Gaim

I keep them in a drawer to save space, with big icons. I like minimalistic panels.

Nothing. I don't use GNOME or any panel. My most used programs are all started via keyboard shortkeys. Alt-Key or Shift-Alt-Key. I find it much quicker.

I have Firefox and Thunderbird in my quick launch. All I need. If I need to launch others, I'll just use ALT+F2.

I use a vertical kicker panel, which is relatively fat but takes a lot less screenspace on my widescreen display. That said, I got plenty of space in my panel, so I use a 3x3 quicklaunch grid.

Firefox - Kmail - Konsole
Amarok - Kdevelop - Kcalc
Vmware - KsysGuard - OpenOffice

I have;

Firefox
Evolution
Terminal
FlexBuilder (Eclipse)
RhythmBox
Synaptic

I also use the Quick Lounge panel applet (http://quick-lounge.sourceforge.net/). The applet incorporates the functionality from the Window's quicklaunch applet that allows you to have extra apps in a sub menu. For example if you have 10 apps, you can have the 4 most important apps visible while the rest are hidden until you click the arrow to expand them.

I don't have a panel in the computer I'm sitting on (fluxbox) but I do have programs on the function keys.

f12: gnome-terminal
f11: firefox
f10: nautilus --no-desktop
f9: gksudo synaptic
f8: gedit
f7: banshee-1
f6: thunar
f5: xchat

That's about all the programs I ever use.

On my gnome laptop, there is nothing on them as I don't find it visually pleasing.

I prefer using alt+f2 or f12 (terminal) to launch programs.

I don't use Quick Launch either.

Windows Key + P,F,T,R = Pidgin, Firefox, Terminal, and Rhythmbox.

I think that's about all I use.
