I'd say the majority of Linux users listen to metal or electronic music. Don't know why.

maybe something to do with it ;)

"Researchers found that, far from being a sign of delinquency and poor academic ability, many adolescent "metalheads" are extremely bright and often use the music to help them deal with the stresses and strains of being gifted social outsiders."

This article got one thing right: I'm a genius. But, it also got something wrong: I never had any self-esteem issues. Yes, it maybe true that I was a bumbling idiot around goils and such, but I certainly didn't think lowly of myself. Quite to the contrary, I was quite sure that I was a superior alien life-form.

But, yes...metal rules. Overall my fav genre is Melodic Death Metal (and my fav band in this genre is [old] Arch Enemy...with Johan Liiva on vox).. Of course, my fav artist, overall, is Devin Townsend, who is not of that genre. But, according to my charts, it looks as though SuperGreenX is my fav...and they are...my fav in the Trance genre, that is. Genre-wise, below Melodic Death Metal and Melodic Hardcore/Emocore/Post-Hardcore is the Trance genre.

Yeah its good to know Im not the only one that likes a good combination of METAL + LINUX!
Strangely enough, most of my friends arent interested in either.

I read that slashdot article a while back as well and totally agree with Earthwormzim I don't have any social problems and dont thing little of myself.

Can't wait for the new Metallica album to come out, I really think it will be good.
Things went downhill when Bob Rock entered as producer, Rick Rubin has produced most of the Slayer albums so that should help.

Also, as much as I dislike Rob Trujillo (he's such a poser) hes a damn fine bassist so his input will be appreciated.

ALL HAIL 'TALLICA!!!

I think part of the reason for the Linux/Metal fraternity is Metalheads tend to have to search out the music to find anything half decent. Most other genre's at least have someone half decent that is quite notable. Also, a lot of metal genre's do not have anyone even notable.

Not saying thats not true of other music, but metal music is one of the few genre's that I know people LOVE to search for new music, rather than being satisfied with the four bands they listen to.

And hence the Linux parallel, people who want to search out new ways of achieving their goals, and better ways.

Either that or I'm talking out of my ****....
