I saw today that Sid now has Xorg:

I know a lot of people installed Ubuntu to get Xorg, and I know some will leave. I hope a few will stay.
For those that are leaving- good luck and I hope Ubuntu and its community was good to you.

No, you mean Harry Pothead. (http://www.zachzintel.com/art/harrypothead.jpg)
On a sidenote, XFree86 is only somewhat bad in Linux distros, BSD systems it works a lot better, and is standard due to how it's maintained and "ported".

Can I ask what's so bad about XFree86? I haven't seen any difference between that and Xorg.

I installed Debian today (netinstall) and should have Sid, but don't have xorg. Still running XF86.

(maybe a little bit OT)
In the latest stable FreeBSD release (5.4), Xorg is standard - which is, XFree86
has also been superseded on FreeBSD.

Eye Candy.
and stability.
in my previous SuSE 9.2 install, merely trying to add middle-button scroll to my xf86.conf crashed X. Assuming the worst, i re-installed 3 times before figureing out the issue (and then switching to Ubuntu 'cause i couldn't fix it)

I'm not going anywhere :D
Though I have thought of installing Debian just to see if I could :D
Then again, I have pulled a Gentoo Stage 1 off...but I think this is the tinkerer in me wanting something to do :D

My rule of thumb, if you do a stage 1 Gentoo install, you can install anything.
