I am not sure if another thread was started about this already, but I was curious if anyone knew where I could get the operating system to download and test out

The project is hosted at http://www.openmoko.org/ so I guess that would be a good place to start looking.

That actually looks pretty good compared to the iPhone. That said, I still have no need for one of those multi-touch smart phones. I am happy its not locked into AT&T and its completely free to develop for. If I ever need a smart phone or get cash to blow, it will definitely be on something open like this.

Aye, I just noticed its mostly for devs. Good luck to them with it. Maybe if it really starts the shine the media might actually cover an open source device....

I won't hold my breath though.

NEVER use AT&T.
They are the Monopoly of Oklahoma, and they have horrible service, and horrible support.
Worst ISP ever.

But on topic, I'd pay whatever it took for this phone, I like it :)
