nOOb needs web page build help

I designed a nice little web page for my business, but the hosting service says I have to updoad an index.html or index.htm for the site to load up properly. I tried saving the file (built in NVU) as dtag.index.html and uploading it, but it still didn't work.

Still says "Please upload an index.html or index.htm file to replace this index."

I have no clue how to do this

Do not save it as dtag.index.html you have to save it as index.html for the homepage on your site to load because the web server software looks for this file. The rest of your files you can name them to whatever you want.
