Hey there everybody,

I just recently hopped on to the Ubuntu band wagon (but have been using Mac OSX since way back in the day), and just wanted to say hello to all the forum members! From what I have seen so far, this OS definitely seems to have what it takes to steal some of the wind from Windows sails! That is, if OSX doesn't first ;). Quick question, are there any MUST HAVE programs that I should grab for this OS? I'm sure somebody out there has already started a thread for this kind of stuff, so forgive me if there is already something posted. Other than that, just wanted to say hi again! ):P

Hello, and welcome aboard!
Must haves ? Depends on what you need and what you are looking for.

For music, definately Amarok but you could try Exaile or Banshee as well.
For videos, VLC or MPLayer.
Games, Planet Penguin Racer and Frozen Bubble.
Programs to just tinker with, Beryl/Compiz or Conky. Conky may be a bit complicated at first though.

Those are my recommendations but maybe you don't need any of those, you didn't specify what you needed so I gave a general answer.
