The mobo on new egg doesn't seem to have a 4-pin power connector for the CPU fan. If you notice it says on the pic, the MOBO has 8-pin cpu connector from the power supply. I just don't see the 4 pin CPU fan connector. I am planning on building a computer and this is confusing me. Is there a way the CPU fan connects to the power supply at all? Here are the pages. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16813130081

Impatient are'nt we ?

Anyway, the cpu fan usually plugs into the Motherboard and not the PSU. Whatever you feed into the mb is picked up by the cpu fan from a small connector located close to the cpu socket.

Edit:

If you have a look at the manual, http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=manual&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1140 on page 1-4 it shows you where the cpu fan plugs in. Page 2-10 deals with the power connectors (24&8pin) and page 2-16 with the cpu fan.

There is a CPU fan connector on that board it's to the left of the green colored RAM slots, little white rectangle. No board on the planet exists without one anyway, every board in existance will not allow your system to boot if the fan is unplugged.

It is a three pin right?

You really are lazy. If you looked in the manual you would see that it supports 3 or 4 pins.

I pulled this image straight from Newegg's website and added a couple of yellow circles to illustrate where the fan headers appear to be on the board. I saw another one toward the bottom of the board (right side of picture) but it would not be used for the CPU fan.

Thank you. I just couldnt see if it was a three pin because of the low res.

One up top is 4 one on the bottom is 3. You can tell by their size ;) I suppose I put too many machines together to know that :D

Page 2-16 of the manual also tells you that it supports both 3 & 4 pin fan connectors.

The top one next to the dimm socketc is the 4 pin cpu fan with speed control. The bottom one next to the heat pipe is s system fan 3 pin connector.

Reading is fundamental :)

Reading is fundamental :)

But something less people seem to be doing. Probably one of the greater gifts of live, being able to read & write but we take it for granted.

why bother doing something simple like reading a manual, when someone else will do it for you?:-)
