Does Anjuta have a Python plug in? When I search for Python IDE I get a link to a site that lists Anjuta as being one, but I can't find the plug in anywhere. If it does, can someone give me a link? If not, does anyone have a recommendation?

SPE - Stani's Python Editor is good IDE. Stani develops it in Ubuntu... Eric is another IDE. For really simple edits, even SciTE if fine, or any other text editor which does not mess with tabs.

Because in Python whitespace is significant, you don't want to mix tabs and spaces. Standard is, replace tab with 4 spaces. Any editor capable that should be fine for basic editing.

i use gedit for almost everyting.

But when i need to have a lot of files open at the same time i use Kate or SPE.

You dont realy need much more.
