[help] no sound

Hi,

I am using debian etch, and enabled the sound
under preferences > sound.

However, there is no sound at all.

What else can I check? The sound system is
an integrated 6-chanel onto the system board.

I believe it is ac97 or something like that.

Try alsaconf and see if that works for you (Run the command as root)
