I thought it would be fun to start a thread wherein users can link to their personal website; it would be fascinating to see what some of you are up to when you are not on the ubuntu forums! What's wrong with a little shameless self-promotion?

Moreover, I think it would be beneficial if you denoted whether or not your site was designed using FOSS or not (i.e. Dreamweaver).

Mine is about a Free Literature project. It's a webpage with my own stories released under GFDL and a blog (also under the same license). The sad point is that they are written in spanish.

Anyway, here they are:
http://hojasparaleer.googlepages.com/ (a humble website done through Google Pages... which is beta and very buggy, but usable)

Mine are in my sig too.

The first one is BMX specific (since I race) and helps keep local riders updated with results and entry forms. The main aim however is to build up some free information to help riders with their training that they can trust (since I'm an exercise scientist) more than some of the drivel that is heard trackside
http://www.vickersf.dyndns.org

The second one is my blog that's slowly coming together. It started as a normal website using a free xhtml template, but I've started moving it over to Wordpress.
http://www.vickersf.dyndns.org:8080/blog

There is also a photo gallery (http://www.vickersf.dyndns.org:8080/gallery2/main.php) I've started, but it doesn't have a link from my main site yet.

FOSS supplied by Ubuntu (Joomla, Wordpress), running on my first and only server. It's only a 256k upload speed connection, sorry.

I have had two. The current active one is a GNU/Linux site, still small, but growing slowly as I have time to write.

http://gnulinux.freewebsites.com

The second is a site on Vulcan philosophy in the real world, made because others were lamenting the loss of another similar site. However, once made, no one bothered to become involved, so I took it down. I could put it back up if anyone really wanted to see it.

Edit: Seems a version of it is still up on an old space. All I did was unlink the now defunct forum and chat room. http://members.fortunecity.com/stanek

I strive to keep to only FOSS in the creation and maintainence of my sites.

I may put the second site up on a better space soon, but anyone can go look at the current version, if they wish.

Most of the stuff I did graphics wise was in Photoshop... but that was prior to my jump to Linux in general. Anyway, here's a really old (about 2 years) page I never finished.

http://www.requestfocus.com

The domain comes from the Object.requestfocus(); method in Java. It just sounded too good not to use it. Email to that domain is now defunkt thanks to spammers though. I've been working on a new site off and on when I get bored. The design is my own and the logo is (c). I have a style guide on it somewhere. The pages are hand coded right along with the css.

For patients in the UK to protect patient confidentiality. The government wants to put all our medical records on a central government database very similar to the ID database.

The campaign is run by myself a former NHS Manager, several doctors and a Cambridge Professor.

Download load our opt out letter which has been written by 2 of our doctors and give it to your GP. Also donations are gratefully received as offer telephone advice and post out info to patients who are not on line.

The latest news is the BMA British Medical Association are now boycotting the database, which is excellent news .

You can find the campaign at www.thebigoptout.com.

It's my attempt at making a better (and less bloated) CMS than what can be found on the net. It's been a couple of months since I made some real changes to it though...
I'm using this website for testing, as wel as blogging purposes.

It has a mixture of English & Dutch content, so you might not understand all :)

PhiSpace.net (http://phispace.net) is mostly used for webspace storage. There's video content on the Spiffy Productions page, especially if you're interested in home brew video effects or lightsaber battles.

InciteMagazine.ca (http://incitemagazine.ca) hosts a campus magazine I did layout (and website stuff) for.

Both coded mostly in gedit.

iWorkInPixels.com (http://www.iworkinpixels.com)

I just set this site up today. I'm a photographer, and I'm going to be taking 7 pictures per week for the next year and selling the prints on my website. Feel free to go check it out, and be sure to leave comments on my blog so it'll have that nice "lived in" feeling instead of that stale, uninviting new-site smell.

Thanks!

EDIT: Oh, and it's FOSS. Wordpress, PHP, and good old fashioned HTML. I do use Photoshop on the pictures though. :-(

EDIT 2: Anyways yes, I do sell things on that website, but no, you don't have to buy them. I'm sending you all the link just to show you my website. Enjoy!

http://www.dennogumi.og - My own blog, updated whenever I feel like it (it's also in the personal sites/blogs thread)

http://www.stealsaga.net - Home of the illustrated horror novel series I'm writing with my brother (dual licensed: Creative Commons for an electronic version, and standard copyright for the printed version).

The same links are always in my signature.

Most of what I do is commercial, so it would be a little unethical to promote it here or any other forum... However, this silly little site isn't:

http://www.widewebsite.com/

or http://www.widewebsite.com/Linux_example.html for the full effect if you are using Linux... (will eventually make the homepage default to the Linux width when I have a spare 10 minutes)

This thread seems to be a bit old and stale, but I just found it so I'm posting my site.

It's my design portfolio at bigsweaterdesign.com (http://www.bigsweaterdesign.com/), entirely built with GIMP and Bluefish, uploaded with FireFTP and Nautilus, and powered by ZenPhoto (http://zenphoto.org) and WordPress (http://wordpress.org).

As of today, it was featured on Daily Slurp (http://www.dailyslurp.com) and Morpheed CSS (http://www.morpheed.com/css/), which was a pleasant surprise in my Google reader! Not bad for a site that literally launched under two weeks ago.

Let me know what you think. And if you want to hire me. :)

Great work to everybody before me, by the by! Good to see f/oss being put to such good use.
