View Full Version : Making IDLE look native

Been using IDLE for a bit now, and seems nice. But the GUI looks pretty ugly. From the screenshots I've seen, the Windows GUI looks native. Is there a way to make the Linux GUI also look native? (ie, have a GTK-like widget style)

Just a question that popped up in my mind ...

On Linux, I prefer SPE - Stani's Python Editor. And I admit part of the reason is the look of IDLE :-(

Use KATE as your editor. The syntax highlighting are very complete:popcorn:

None of you answered his question lol. I think the short answer is no. IDLE is written using Tk which is just an all around ugly toolkit and I think it uses Xt (X Toolkit) to draw the widgets which is very primitive these days in the first place.

Damn. I've tried the other IDE's but IDLE seems to me the most comfortable of them all ...
